Set the default maps center point


To set the default center point of all your maps, do the following:

  1. Click on the menu “Progress Map”.
  2. click on the menu “Default Map Settings”.
  3. Enter the coordinates (Latitude & Longitude) to use as the default center point of all your maps in the field “Map center”.

Note: You can override the map center point when creating new maps.


What coordinates formats to use?

Only “Decimal” format is allowed. e.g. 55.7557860, -37.6176330″

All underneath formats are not supported:

  • Degrees minutes seconds : 40° 26′ 46″ N 79° 58′ 56″ W
  • Degrees decimal minutes: 40° 26.767′ N 79° 58.933′ W
  • Decimal degrees: 40.446° N 79.982° W

Set the map container background color


The color used for the background of the map container will be visible when tiles have not yet loaded as the user pans.

To set the map container background color, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Map settings”.
  4. Choose a color in the field “Map background”.

Change the cluster image


To change the cluster image, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Marker clustering settings”.
  4. To change the color of the text displayed inside the clusters, modify the color in the field “Clusters text color”.
  5. To edit the small cluster image, upload your custom image in the field “Small cluster image”.
  6. To edit the medium cluster image, upload your custom image in the field “Medium cluster image”.

Enable retina display for custom markers & clusters


To enable retina display on the map, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Map settings”.
  4. Select the option “Enable” in the field “Retina support”.

Please note that you don’t need to use retina display when using SVG icons, however, when using PNG/JPG/GIF images, make sure to upload marker or cluster images that are twice the size you want them to be displayed on the map. For example, if you want the marker/cluster image on the map to be displayed as 20×30 pixels, upload an image of 40×60 pixels!

Show the zoom control


To show the zoom control on the map, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Map settings”.
  4. Click on the “Controls & Interaction” section to access the options within.
  5. Select the option “Yes” in the field “Show zoom control”.
  6. To use the default zoom control type, select the option  in the field “Zoom control Type”.
  7. To use our custome zoom control type, select the option “Customized  in the field “Zoom control Type”.

Show the street view control


To add the Street View Service on the map, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Map settings”.
  4. Select the option “Yes” in the field “Show street view control”.

Show the map type control


There are four types of maps available within Google Maps:

  1. Roadmap: displays the default road map view. This is the default map type.
  2. Satellite: displays Google Earth satellite images
  3. Hybrid: displays a mixture of normal and satellite views
  4. Terrain: displays a physical map based on terrain information.

The plugin allows you to add another type of maps which is called “Custom style”. To allow users to switch between the all types, you can add a control called “Map type control” on the map which is a serie of buttons/options that allow users to change the map type/style.

To add the Map type control on the map, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Map settings”.
  4. Select the option “Yes” in the field “Show map type control”.

Displaying user or devise position on the map


To display the geographic location of a user or device on the map, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Geo-targeting settings”.
  4. Select the option “Yes” in the field “Allow Geo-targeting”.
  5. To add a new marker on the map showing the estimated location of the user or device, select the option “Yes” in the field “Show user location?”.
  6. To customize the user marker icon, upload your custom icon in the field “User Marker image”.
  7. In the field “Geotarget Zoom”, select the zoom to use when displaying the user or device location.
  8. To draw a circle around the user or device location, enter the size of the circle in the field “Draw a Circle around the user’s location”. To disable this option, set the circle size to 0″.
  9. To customize the circle’s style, modify the colors and the values in the fields “Fill color”“Fill opacity”“Stroke color”“Stroke opacity” and “Stroke weight”.

Use a button to recenter the map


The plugin provides an option that allows users to adjust the map to its initial state. This option will add a button on the map that when clicked, it’ll recenter the map to its initial center point and zoom level.

To enable this option, do the following:

  1. Edit a map
  2. Open the widget “Progress Map Settings”.
  3. Click on the menu “Map settings”.
  4. Select the option “Yes” in the field “Recenter Map”.
