What is a search map?
A “Search map” is a map that stores all the informations about your posts/locations but doesn’t display them when loaded on the screen. Once you do a search request using on of the available search tools (Map search, Faceted search, …etc) in the plugin or it’s addons, the map displays the posts/locations based on that search request.
In other words, it’s an empty map that doesn’t display locations unless you run a search request.
To create a search map, do the following:
- Edit a map.
- Open the widget “(Custom) post type & Map settings”.
- Select the option ““ in the field “How would you like to use this map?”.
