Create an API Key & activate the required APIs

The plugin requires certain Google Maps APIs to properly work.

Very Important Note: We assume that you’re already aware that Google Maps requires a billing account to continue using their APIs and that you’ve already created one. If you didn’t create any billing account, or that you’re new to Google Maps Platform, please visit this link to see how to create a Billing Account, how to enable APIs and how to Generate & restrict API keys!

After creating a Billing Acount, enable the required APIs by doing the following or watch the below video tutorial:

  1. Go to your Google API Console.
  2. From the projects list, select a project or create a new one.
  3. If the APIs & services page isn’t already open, open the console left side menu and select APIs & services, and then select Library. Make sure to enable the following APIs:
      • Maps JavaScript API
      • Directions API
      • Distance Matrix API
      • Geocoding API
      • Places API
  4. Click the API you want to enable. If you need help finding the API, use the search field.
  5. Click ENABLE.
  6. To create your API Key, watch the below video tutorial (from 1:40 until the end) or visit this link.

Note: The process of enabling an API varies depending on the API.
